Johann Marihart takes charge of PFP, the association of the primary food processing industry in 2012
Date: 15.12.2011Johann Marihart, CEO of AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG, in his position as President of the European Committee of Sugar Manufacturers CEFS, will assume the annually rotating presidency of the association of the primary food processing industry PFP with effect from January 2012.
In addition to the European Committee of Sugar Manufacturers (CEFS), the PFP also includes the trade industry representing the interests of the European starch industry (AAF), the European Vegetable Protein Federation (EUVEPRO), the EU Vegetable Oil and Proteinmeal Industry (FEDIOL) and the European Flour Milling Association (EFM). Its foremost mission is to produce raw materials on a sustainable basis in Europe through competitive agricultural practices. The organisation represents 3,130 companies in 26 EU member states with a total of around 123,500 employees. The industries covered by the PFP represent the most important processors of food products in the EU, processing 200 million tonnes of raw materials every year with a turnover in excess of EUR 60 billion.
